Preventative Care For MMA Athletes
Skin infections are an unfortunate part of any contact sport, and they are no laughing matter. Whether you train in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, wrestling, boxing, Muay Thai, or mixed martial arts, you run the risk of picking up a skin infection. The hot, damp, sweaty conditions that are the hallmarks of any gym worth going to are breeding grounds for the various bacterial, fungal, and viral nasties that would love to call your skin home. Ringworm, impetigo, staph, and staph’s potentially deadly cousin MRSA are all infections that can take hold if you don’t take preventative care. Each can run rampant through your gym, and some, such as MRSA, can have grave consequences. Nip them in the bud before have a chance! It is far easier to prevent skin infection than to try to get rid of it once it takes hold, and the best way to do that is to use the soaps and body lotions we have in stock at MMA Industries. Shower as soon as you can after training, preferably at the gym immediately after you step off the mats. Regular soap won’t cut it here. The soaps we have are made specifically for the combat sports athlete. They contain all-natural antibacterial, antifungal, and antiviral ingredients such as tea tree oil and orange essential oils, and they will give you the best shot at avoiding a nasty skin infection. At a tournament or a fight where you can’t shower? Rub in some post-training gel or wipe yourself down with a post-training wipe, and minimize the chance of contracting a skin infection. We take MMA hygiene very seriously here at MMA Industries, so we’ve chosen the leading companies in the industry to protect ourselves and our customers. Don’t be a victim, get your specialty soap at MMA Industries!
